The "Company of the Year' Awards are organised by Business XL magazine, which is owned by successful business publisher Vitesse Media.

Business XL is dedicated to advising fast-growing companies on how to manage growth and its related issues. It targets the 30,417 (ABC) fastest-growing businesses in the UK that demonstrate minimum annual revenues of £1 million. Business XL is distributed to the CEO of each of these companies (over 20,000 have specifically requested the magazine) and 40 per cent of these companies have revenues of more than £10 million. The magazine is also sent to the CEO of every company listed on AIM. Leslie Copeland, Editorial Director of Business XL, won the AIM Journalist of the Year Award in 2004 and 2005 for his work in the magazine.
